KCON17LA Breaks Attendance Records Both On and Offline + Our Recap!

KCON17LA is the biggest Korean entertainment convention in the U.S., period. And, they made that especially clear this year with some staggering numbers! Firstly, they had over 85,000 fans show up in LA, making the total for KCON USA (including KCON17NY) over 128,000! But, even if fans weren’t able to be there in person, they sure were during the livestream! KCON says that this year’s numbers dwarfed the previous years making it the most viewed year ever on KCON.TV!

There were also around 250 local merchants present, sharing their food, beauty products and other wares to the multitude of Kpop fans that descended onto the Los Angeles Convention Center! First time sponsors AT&T really stepped up, providing fans with rare and exclusive fan meetings with artists like SF9, Cosmic Girls and VIXX. We were able to attend the private Meet and Greet with VIXX, and it was an event like we’ve never seen before at a KCON! Fans were handpicked to attend the intimate gathering, meeting VIXX up-close and even taking pictures with group before they were whisked off to their next engagement. We hope that AT&T returns next year so more fans can get the VVIP treatment!

All in all, KCON17LA definitely proved once again that it is the only convention of its kind in the United States, and showed that the KCON brand is slowly but surely making it’s way toward global domination! Just how many KCONs are there again? Well, there’s Abu Dhabi, Paris, Tokyo, Mexico City, and the recently added Australia, which will take place in September! Where else should KCON pop up?
