After being active in the Japanese entertainment industry for 14 years, actress Maki Horikita is closing that chapter of her life. Fans seemed to expect the announcement, as she is a new mother and wife now to fellow actor Koji Yamamoto, whom she married in 2015.
We haven’t been keeping up to date with the genre of Japanese Dramas as much as we probably should, but it doesn’t make this news any less sad! When we were first getting into Japanese entertainment, Maki Horikita was basically a household name for us. She starred in the live-action adaptation of “Hana Kimi” as well as one of our favorites, “Nobuta Wo Produce” and “Kurosagi”.
We wish her well and hope that this departure will not rule out the possibility of future cameos!
