Gudetama Pudding Kit! [Goody Goodies]

GoodyGoodies_EP1_YTTNWe love cute food, so with this in mind, we visited the Tokyo Central market in Gardena, CA over the weekend to see what we could find! Well, we found one of the cutest DIY snacks we’d ever seen; the Japanese Gudetama Purin (pudding) Kit! Some things went as planned, some things didn’t but in order to make an omelette, you’ve got to break a few eggs, right?

When you first buy the kit, you’ll probably ask yourself, “is that it”? Short answer, yes! Most of the ingredients and molds are already in the kit. All you’ll need to create your pudding is milk, a mug and a spoon for mixing!  Now, for the tricky part…the directions are all in Japanese, which is totally understandable since it’s a product from Japan, but for us non-fluent enthusiasts, it’s tough. After searching Google, we found a couple of sites that gave a rough idea, so we’ll pass that knowledge on to you! Check out our video below, or follow the directions under the video! Enjoy!

Directions:

Firstly, you’ll use the mold kit to measure out two “cups” of milk into the mug. Next, take the orange packet that came in the package, and mix it into the mug with the milk. Measure two “cups” of milk out in the provided milk receptacle in the located within the mold kit. (Refer to the video for visual directions)

After that’s finished, zap the mixture in the microwave for about 30-40 secs, watching to make sure it doesn’t spill over (in the video we try for 1 minute on high, with disastrous results….T_T).

Then, pour the mixture into the two molds and move to the fridge. Let the pudding sit in the fridge for about 2-3 hours or until it springs back at your touch.

To finish, transfer the pudding to a plate and set aside. Then, take the blue packet and pour the powder into the mug and mix with one “cup” of milk (again, measured out with the provided milk receptacle in the mold kit). Mix and then pour out onto the plate with the pudding to garnish! IMG_8047

Voila! Now enjoy your Gudetama Pudding! Yummy!
